Of Empires Studio Promos
A couple of weeks ago I went along to Outhouse Studios in Reading to document my bro's band 'Of Empires' recording sessions.
I had fun doing some time lapse stuff and shooting a bit of video which I don't get to do that often so it was nice to do something a bit different. Got caught some more video stuff in the pipeline for them too which I'm really excited about!
Check out episode 1 below, I'll be updating this post weekly with the others as they're released. Cheers!

Union shoot behind the scenes
On Friday 11th May we finally did our shoot for Union (http://www.unionjewellery.com/)! After weeks of preparation (and weeks of checking the weather) we pulled the trigger and went for it. Turns out we got the weather just right and things seemed to run quite smoothly on the day.
I'd like to thank everyone involved for all their hard work. It was my first time art directing a shoot of this magnitude and it was made much easier by such a great crew, so thanks!
I'll have some proper images to show you soon but you'll have to settle for these behind the scenes shots for now! Cheers!

Location Scouting
![]() |
| Me with an awesome stick I found at Abbots Wood! One of the 'dens' behind me. |
Kat and I went on a location scouting mission for a photo shoot we're doing next week. I won't give too much away but the theme of the shoot requires some interesting woodland!
We went to Nyman's Gardens first (near Crawley ish) which is part of the National Trust. I bagged myself a NT membership whilst we were there and I had a rather good sausage and chutney sandwich. The woods there went on for ages and there were some great locations to shoot but our concern was the distance between everything. Not going to be very practical lugging all our gear around.

Next, we went to Abbots Wood in Arlington (near Polegate/Eastbourne) which offered something completely different. What we found there were these amazing dens built up by fallen branches which were almost perfect for the shoot we're doing. The plus about this location was that the parts we liked were much more immediate and about 50 metres from the car park!

Sorcery...
My Gotham Light seems to be glitching for some reason. To be honest, I hope it stays like this! Love accidents like this, got a few ideas from it!

Something? But what is it!?
A preview of a prop we've been making for a photo shoot I'm art directing at Red. Very exciting stuff! This particular prop has come on a fair bit too since this photo. We've made a few others as well and they're looking great but you'll have to wait to see those!
Big thanks also to Brighton Graphic Design student Ashton Milton who came in & helped out for the week. She was really helpful with everything and an all round lovely girl. The prop in the photo was mostly her doing and it's looking very cool indeed! Check out her blog too - http://ashtonmilton.tumblr.com/
Hope to show some more stuff from this soon. The shoot is in a couple of weeks time, hopefully the weather holds out.
