I love unexpected results from...

... scanning weird things. These awesome textures are from washing up liquid inside a plastic wallet (inverted and contrast messed with).

Merry Christmas!

I'm in the Christmas mood, and you should be too! Here's an illustration of some holly I whacked together today.

A little peek... something I'm working on. Very excited about it.

'We are the 5% Zine'

My friend Chris (, whom I work with at Red, invited Victoria and I to contribute to a zine he was curating. The theme was 'we are the 5%' which refers to the creative industry making up 5% of all industry in the world. It's also a bit of a reference to the Occupy movement and the fact that most of us in the creative industry are part of the 99%.

You can see mine and Victoria's contribution below (side by side!). You can check out the rest of the pages here:

Constellations Newspaper

The newspaper for the Constellations Music Festival in Leeds arrived at Red yesterday and we finally got to see our poster in the flesh! I'm very happy with how it turned out and the paper itself is really nicely put together and there's some awesome posters in it.

The newspaper design and festival art direction was done by Studio xiixii -

Check out the Constellations Festival website where you can buy the newspaper! It's well worth it:

To entice you even more here are some images of the paper and our poster.

FOUND: Levis 3D Comic

I found this in a box full of promo bits Red has received in the post from all sorts of people/companies over the years. It is literally so awesome and obviously way better in the flesh but it gave me a kick up the arse to go ahead with the 3D zine I've been thinking about making for ages.

I wish you could all see the effect of the images. Each panel comes to life with amazing depth. Only sections of the comic are in 3D however. To read the whole comic like that would be tiring I think but the 3D sections really draw you in.

Didn't make the cut

Part of some work I did that didn't make the cut. It wasn't right for what we were doing but I kinda like it. Kinda. Been done before I guess.

Death Metal Zombie Artists

I had some work shown recently at the former home of the 'Centrefold Gallery' in Guernsey. I say former because it no longer exists. However, it was resurrected for one night only because of a terrible curse! The rent! Work was on sale and proceeds went to paying off the debt. I wasn't able to attend but it sounds like everyone had fun. I really wanted to put some new work forward for this but didn't have time so I sent a few of She Haunts The Roads screenprints I had laying about.

Constellations Festival

Red Design were asked to contribute a poster for Constellations Festival happening in Leeds on 12th November and I got to design it! The brief was simply 'constellations' and it was up to us to interpret it in our own ways & unsurprisingly each poster is very different.

15 posters will be sold together in a limited edition 64 page tabloid newspaper that accompanies the music festival. It's available for £10 online (click here for the shop) and available for a reduced price on the day for ticket holders.

You can check out the work here and feel free to buy it and support us if you're feeling generous. There's some really great studios involved so it's exciting to be apart of it.

A massive thank you goes out to Son Emirali and the Plog Mag guys for liking my FMP work and featuring it in issue 3. I'm really impressed with the work they're doing. Remembering these guys are only just going into second year makes this even more awesome. It's so good to see people who are passionate about their work and I wish everyone involved the best for their coming year. I'll be keeping an eye!

I Love 3D.

I've been meaning to design this for ages! I've just got round to it and I'm quite happy with it. I'd wear one! ;) Might get a short run of risograph prints done too! Get in touch if you want one ;)

RIP Steve. Thank you so much.

Doing a little more development on 1159 stuff. I am definitely preferring this a bit more. Using only red and blue and getting rid of the black was the thing I did. Totally freed things up. Still in the draft stages but I like where it's heading.

defintion of frockney

Some ideas for a small promotional publication that 1159 want to put out along with their release 'Ou est Le Tissier'. I have how I want it to look in my head and I think it could eventually be awesome but what I've done here isn't quite right. Just some initial experiments happening at the moment really but I'm excited to do some more on this soon.
